Oh, and I quickly learned that it is not practical to follow everyone back on Twitter with their 2000 follower limits. We follow back users who provide content that might be relevant to our followers. We don't usually follow users who do not follow us back but make an exception w/ news outlets. They do provide good content and rarely follow anyone back.

We use Twitter to promote brand awareness and use our Facebook page as a landing page. I am always looking for interesting content to put out to my followers, and will liberally retweet relevant content. I am using Twitter to see the trends and passively dialogue, but use facebook to actively dialogue with business partners and potential customers. Probably most of my Twitter followers will never be in a position to buy my product, but my Facebook followers tend to be more local. We always thank our partners for a referral on Facebook - the nice thing about that is we can include a backlink to their FB page or website. I might do that on twitter too and link back to the original on FB.
